When constructing a complex belt system it is important to include some form of slack side compensation system, with the aim of ensuring that this slack side of the belt remains taut as much as possible and thus increase the contact arc between the drive shaft and belt. Minimising belt slippage and producing an almost silent slack side which is no longer loose and inefficient, enables the whole system to become more energy efficient (up to 15% of electrical energy is wasted in belt slippage).
