Widely used for the transportation of bulk materials, these systems comprise a screening trough or stiff shaker supported by several pairs of guided rocker arms – which themselves are anchored to the floor. This basic design is commonly driven by a crank shaft system but breaks down into two distinct solutions - slow and fast acting shaker systems.

Slow systems generally use a “brute-force” method, generally favoured by material processing industries due to its simple construction and easy repair. The low speed of the system mean it is generally favoured where a low processing speed is acceptable. The crank system which drives these systems, by nature of design, also transmits high reaction forces into the building floor and foundations, therefore damping is essential to protect not only the machinery itself, but the building within which it resides. Rubber suspension units can be designed with highly engineered rubber innards which effectively dampen these reaction forces whilst fitting the spacial requirements requested. Depending upon the nature of the material being transported and the environment in which the machinery operates, Rubber suspension units can be provided with a full-fill construction and a sealed shell – effectively eliminating the possibility of foreign matter ingress and unnecessary wear of the rubber within.

Fast systems generally incorporate a spring accumulator in their design and this transmits a much smoother course of motions from the crank drive by accentuating the motions it outputs. These springs use their high dynamic stiffness to compensate for the hard hits of the crank shaft drive’s changing of direction, ultimately meaning a more harmonic, gentle and efficient system which runs almost silently. These spring accumulators also help to avoid damage to the building and foundation structure and makes the system more suitable for higher processing speeds. Rubber suspension units can be engineered to eliminate any residual reaction forces from the crank as well as protect the elements of the machine itself from unnecessary wear and tear. Our bespoke engineering team can work with system manufacturers or those looking to improve their current system, engineering a solution specific to the problem and fully testing it before implementation. Depending upon the nature of the material being transported and the environment in which the machinery operates, Rubber suspension units can be provided with a full-fill construction and a sealed shell – effectively eliminating the possibility of foreign matter ingress and unnecessary wear of the rubber within.
