Our Ackermann steered axles with fully bonded suspension combine manoeuvrability with easy tracking and superior trailer stability, especially when cornering.
This system has been used for many different applications including mounting military hardware, bowsers, mobile kitchens and exhibition units.
Also available is a twin Ackermann, with both the front and rear axles steered giving a much tighter turning circle.
The suspension on the Ackermann is provided by our fully bonded suspension units (R-flex fullbond technology), which comprises of a central shaft surrounded by a metal case. High density rubber is then bonded to the outer casing as well as the central shaft and completely fills the space between the metal casing and metal shaft, giving its full-fill construction.
Our fully bonded suspension units are not just designed for unrivalled performance and reliability, they are also practical and durable. Fully bonded central shafts and arms can all be supplied splined, allowing the level of the arms to be altered for different ride heights whilst providing incredibly strong connections with mounting plates.
These axles can be supplied braked or unbraked using standard, auto-reverse or hydro/mechanical brakes.
